At The Medical Center, board certified general and specialty surgeons perform state-of-the-art, minimally invasive procedures as well as a complete range of treatments, for a variety of conditions. We care for children and adults of all ages, and encourage parents to stay with their children up to the time of surgery and through the recovery period.

Anesthesia and Pain Management

Pain is the most important concern patients have upon admission to a hospital. At The Medical Center, board certified anesthesiologists provide anesthetic care for patients undergoing surgical and other procedures. Anesthesiologists also provide medical care to patients requiring postoperative or respiratory intensive care, postoperative acute pain management, and comprehensive evaluation and therapy for all types of acute and chronic pain.

General Surgery

Abdominal surgeries are performed utilizing the latest technology for minimally invasive and invasive techniques to treat gastrointestinal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, benign and malignant breast conditions, endocrine, and skin and soft tissue disorders, including inguinal and abdominal wall hernia.


Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery

Board-certified otolaryngologists at The New England Center for Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery treat otitis media, chronic ear disease, and perform head and neck surgery and reconstruction. Advanced sinus surgery is performed with Brain Lab image-guided technology and balloon sinusplasty, when appropriate. Tonsillectomies can often be performed with coblation, a radiofrequency procedure that speeds recovery time.


Neurosurgery

Board certified neurosurgeons provide a full range of services to treat carpal tunnel syndrome, complex spine problems, brain tumors, pituitary surgery, and neurovascular disorders.

 

Orthopaedic Surgery

Board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeons provide a full range of procedures at The Medical Center, including total joint replacement surgeries, back surgery, ACL (knee ligament) reconstructions, rotator cuff repairs, and sports injury repairs. Our orthopaedic surgeons have access to a brand new state-of-the art orthopaedic surgical suite equipped with BrainLab, the latest computer-assisted technology available.

Plastic Surgery

Expert plastic and reconstructive surgeons perform a full spectrum of services, including reconstructive surgery for trauma of the extremities and face, reconstruction following surgical and radiation treatment of the breast, hand surgery, and microvascular surgery.

Vascular Surgery

Our board certified vascular and general surgeons treat problems of the arterial and venous systems, including peripheral vascular disease, aneurysms, carotid artery disease, varicose veins, and diabetic foot ulcers.

Non-Invasive Treatment for Spinal Fractures

Kyphoplasty is a new minimally invasive treatment for spinal compression fractures that corrects vertebral deformity and restores back function. The procedure is performed by Radiologist Steve Birnbaum, MD.
