President's Message
A Message From the President - excerpted from the Southern New Hampshire Health System Annual Report, January 2007
Each year Southern New Hampshire Health System develops aggressive goals to keep this growing organization moving forward as we meet the needs of the greater Nashua community.
There are many ways to measure our performance. We constantly compare ourselves to national benchmarks and other indicators, and actively search out ways to provide the most error free and healing environment possible. Our commitment to patient safety and satisfaction has earned loyalty from patients, physicians, and employees. One of the best indicators of our impact on the community is the letters I receive from our patients and their families. I recently received a letter from a patient who lives in Nashua who had spent a week in our hospital that reads, “The building renovations and remodeling make it [SNHMC] an appealing place to be, but it is the caring staff that makes it so extraordinary.”
These letters serve as a reminder that health care at Southern New Hampshire Health System is a deeply personal business. Our growth can never result in our staff feeling too rushed to offer a kind word or comforting touch. As we continue to invest in leading-edge technology we must demonstrate an equal commitment to the people who bring it to life.
As more people choose to receive their care at Southern New Hampshire Health System, we have expanded emergency and cardiology services at The Medical Center’s Main Campus in downtown Nashua and enhanced services at our West Campus on Northeast Boulevard, Nashua. Work is being completed on new surgical suites and construction is underway on a new wing at our Main Campus which will be the new location for The Birth Place, as well as other essential medical services. Simultaneously, we have started Nashua’s first emergency angioplasty program. We are investing in our services and facilities to insure our ability to meet the future health needs of our community with the same commitment that has guided us for more than a century.
At Southern New Hampshire Health System a higher level of care is more than words. Our people make it happen every day. We are committed to making the greater Nashua area a healthier and safer place to live and work.
.
Sincerely,
Thomas E. Wilhelmsen, Jr.
President and CEO
