What is a clinical trial?

Clinical trials are research studies using human volunteers to answer specific health questions, test new drugs or combinations of drugs, or determine new ways of using known therapies under controlled environments. Carefully conducted clinical trials are one of the fastest ways to find treatments that work, improve health, and quality of life for the patient.

Why participate in a clinical trial?

If you meet the criteria of a clinical trial, you can become a more active participant in your own health care, help others by adding to medical research, and gain access to new research treatments.
