The Birth Place


If you are planning to visit our Family Center, you will be asked to complete a very short health survey to be sure you are "symptom free" before entering. This will help protect pregnant women, mothers, children, and newborns from the flu. Learn More ►


Welcome to the New Birth Place at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center!

We are located on the East side of The Medical Center. From the Main Lobby at 8 Prospect Street, turn right at the reception desk and follow the hallway straight ahead to the Birth Place.




The new Birth Place provides personalized, family-centered care with your needs in mind. We offer spacious private birthing suites, a comfortable couch for Dad or a guest, room service meals at your convenience and many other family-friendly features. When you choose the Birth Place at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, you also have the added reassurance of knowing you will have:


  • Experienced, highly-trained doctors and nurses who listen to you
  • Anesthesiologist available around-the-clock
  • Neonatologists available 24/7
  • Two large on-site operating rooms equipped with advanced technology for those needing a Cesarean birth
  • A state-of-the art infant security system

And just in case your baby needs extra medical care. . . . it’s comforting to know that our Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is available. One of just three in the state, it is the only one in Greater Nashua, and offers family-centered care in a quiet environment.
