Mission: The Cancer Committee at Southern New Hampshire Health System (SNHHS) is dedicated to providing comprehensive cancer care for our patients. Committee members represent diverse medical and surgical disciplines, such as oncology, surgery, pathology, radiology, gastroenterology, urology, ob/gyn, physical therapy, nutrition, and nursing. Community education, quality management, and community partnerships also have a place at the table. Together our work reflects the core values of SNHHS: People, Service, Quality, Finance, and Growth.

Accreditation: The cancer program at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center (SNHMC) received a three-year accreditation in 2005, with commendations in outcomes analysis, staging, prevention and early detection programs, cancer registry staff education, and cancer-related quality improvements. This distinction exceeds the standards set forth by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.

Membership: The Cancer Committee’s composition and number of participants are based on the requirement of the Commission on Cancer Approvals Program, which encourages hospitals, treatment centers, and other facilities to improve their quality of patient care through various cancer-related programs concerned with prevention, early diagnosis, staging, optimal treatment, rehabilitation, surveillance for recurrent disease, support services, and end-of-life care.
