Internationally recognized as a leader in diabetes treatment, clinical research, and patient and professional diabetes education since 1898, the Joslin Diabetes Center is associated with Harvard Medical School.

 

The only Joslin Diabetes Center in the Granite State, we bring together board certified endocrinologists and certified diabetes educators, including nurses, registered dietitians, and exercise counselors, to work with you to manage your diabetes and meet your individual needs.   • GESTATIONAL DIABETES
    To help women with gestational diabetes take healthy action to ensure the best outcome for their babies. Taught by certified diabetes educators, including nurses and dietitians. Follow-up on an individual basis.

  • WHAT'S YOUR RISK FOR DIABETES?
    Diabetes nurse educator Kathy Winslow, RN, BS, CDE, and registered dietitian Julie Lavoie, RD, BS, share the latest findings from the Diabetes Prevention Trial, including diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes. Ideal for middle-aged individuals with a strong family history of diabetes, obesity issues, or personal concern about diabetes.

  • DIABETES TODAY
    A 2-part educational program for those with newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes or those wishing a refresher. Topics include: First Steps, What Can I Eat? and Food and Exercise Basics. Taught by certified diabetes educators, including nurses and dietitians.

  • STEPS TO SUCCESS
    An 8.5 hour class scheduled in three sessions for those having difficulty controlling their diabetes. Topics include: Living with Diabetes, Monitoring, Healthy Eating, Pattern Management, Understanding your Meds, Healthy Carbohydrate Counting, and Heart Healthy Guideline. Taught by certified diabetes educators, including nurses and dietitians.

  • DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP
    For adults with diabetes. Meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month (no meetings during July and August) from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at SNHMC Main Campus, 3 Central. Open to all. No registration necessary.
 

Diabetes Insulin Pump User Support Group >>

3rd Thursday of each month

6:00 pm-7:00 pm

Joslin Diabetes Center affiliate at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center

For adults interested in or using insulin pumps.

Monthly speakers will answer questions and discuss glucose monitoring, dietary issues, medication options for pump users, traveling with a pump and how and why to use Combo boluses.
