- GESTATIONAL DIABETES
To help women with gestational diabetes take healthy action to ensure the best outcome for their babies. Taught by certified diabetes educators, including nurses and dietitians. Follow-up on an individual basis.
- WHAT'S YOUR RISK FOR DIABETES?
Diabetes nurse educator Kathy Winslow, RN, BS, CDE, and registered dietitian Julie Lavoie, RD, BS, share the latest findings from the Diabetes Prevention Trial, including diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes. Ideal for middle-aged individuals with a strong family history of diabetes, obesity issues, or personal concern about diabetes.
- DIABETES TODAY
A 2-part educational program for those with newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes or those wishing a refresher. Topics include: First Steps, What Can I Eat? and Food and Exercise Basics. Taught by certified diabetes educators, including nurses and dietitians.
- STEPS TO SUCCESS
An 8.5 hour class scheduled in three sessions for those having difficulty controlling their diabetes. Topics include: Living with Diabetes, Monitoring, Healthy Eating, Pattern Management, Understanding your Meds, Healthy Carbohydrate Counting, and Heart Healthy Guideline. Taught by certified diabetes educators, including nurses and dietitians.
- DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP
For adults with diabetes. Meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month (no meetings during July and August) from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at SNHMC Main Campus, 3 Central. Open to all. No registration necessary.
