Pediatric Unit

If you are planning to visit our Family Center, you will be asked to complete a very short health survey to be sure you are "symptom free" before entering. This will help protect pregnant women, mothers, children, and newborns from the flu. Learn More ►

Welcome to the family-centered Pediatric Unit, where we care for children and young adults. We recognize that our younger patients' physical and emotional needs are different from those of adults. That's why this specialized unit is staffed by a team of professionals whose sole focus is caring for younger patients.

Our team includes your child's primary care doctor, pediatric hospitalists, specialized pediatric nurses, and Patient & Family Services representatives.

To help your child feel safe and secure, feel free to bring a few familiar items from home, such as a pillow, special blanket, stuffed animal, music, or videotape.

Your child's safety is our priority. When you arrive, we will ask you who is legally responsible for your child. Only that person will be allowed to leave the unit with your child. Visitors will need to provide identification if you are not present.

We encourage you to participate in your child's care. If you wish to spend the night, we can provide sleeping arrangements for one family member. For your convenience and comfort, a continental breakfast and shower facilities are available. The Pediatric Unit has a nourishment area where you are welcome to store special food items for you or your child.

We invite you to speak to us about any special needs your child and family may have during your stay with us.  Our Nurse Manager, Rebecca Marden, is available at 603-577-2400.
