Many chronic diseases are associated with lifestyle. Preventing chronic disease may not be completely within your control, but you can play a role by choosing healthy foods. Planning meals that may decrease your risk of developing coronary heart disease, adult onset diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and some cancers is one way to take responsibility for your health. At Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, we believe in empowering patients through education and information. Our dietitians are available for one-on-one consultations. Programs for weight management can be arranged through your primary care physician. For more information or to arrange an appointment, please call (603) 577-2665.

 

Outpatient Nutrition Counseling is provided by Registered Dietitians in the following areas:

  • Weight management
  • Therapeutic diets for elevated cholesterol, hypertension, gastrointestinal disorders, and cancer
  • Diabetic meal planning
    Our diabetes educators provide an ADA-recognized program of education and support.
  • Wellness nutrition
  • Vegetarian nutrition
  • Prenatal nutrition
  • Gestational diabetes
  • Eating disorders

For your convenience, we also have offices in Hudson (Southern NH Rehabilitation Center satellite) and at the West campus. See Rehabilitation Services .

 

We conveniently register our patients and bill their insurance through the hospital’s billing system. Most insurance companies cover our services. We welcome all patients through physician referral, thereby maximizing the benefits of Medical Nutrition Therapy.

 

Our Registered Dietitians are available six days a week. Early morning, evening, and weekend hours are available. Counseling offices are located at:

  • SNHMC Main Campus, 24 Dearborn Street, Nashua
  • SNHMC West campus, 29 Northwest Blvd, Nashua
  • Southern NH Rehabilitation Center, 300 Derry Road, Hudson
