Directions

 

Phase II

This is an 8-week program for individuals with chronic lung disease, such as emphysema, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), chronic bronchitis, asthma, cystic fibrosis, interstitial and occupational lung conditions and other lung injury. The pulmonary rehab program consists of supervised exercise sessions and a comprehensive educational series. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

Goals of the program include: decrease shortness of breath, help you become actively involved in your own health care and improve your emotional well being. Through this program you will receive support to help stabilize your illness and improve your quality of life.

 

Your rehab team includes board certified physicians, respiratory therapists, registered nurses, exercise physiologists, registered dietitians, and behavioral specialists.

 

Phase III

Once you complete the Phase II program, you may continue to exercise in our maintenance program so that you will maintain the positive gains you have made.

 

Additional Services

 

Smoking cessation

Team includes a Tobacco Training Specialist for education and support for smoking cessation.

 

Support Group for individuals in pulmonary rehab program. Provides education and social support through meetings and education programs. www.inspirenashua.org

 

The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) has nationally recognized and certified the Cardiopulmonary Rehab programs at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.
