Patient Information >>

Welcome, and thank you for choosing our hospital. We are committed to being the best caregivers in America. Part of providing excellent care is giving you the information you need in advance about your stay — what you can expect, and what you should do to prepare.

We are here to meet your physical and emotional needs. If at any time during your stay you have a comment or a question, please feel free to talk to any staff member or call the Patient Relations Administrative Representative at (603) 577-2700 or 577-2196.

Read our Welcome Book (click to see it in a new window) in English and Spanish, or find what you need to know by topic in the box to your left.

Advance Directives

Choosing someone to make decisions for you when you cannot make them for yourself can help make difficult moments easier for your family. Learn more about advance directives.

Speak Up!

Your safety is our top priority. We encourage you to be involved in your health care.

  • Speak up if you have any questions or concerns, and if you don't understand, ask again.

  • Pay attention to the care you are receiving, and ask questions when you don't understand.

  • Educate yourself about your diagnosis, medical tests and plan of care.

  • Ask a trusted family member or friend to be with you, if you are unable to ask questions for yourself.

  • Know what medications you are taking.

  • Participate in decisions about your treatment. You are the center of your health care team.

Southern New Hampshire Medical Center Hospitalist Program >>

J. Stewart Fulton, DO

Stewart Fulton, DO, Medical Director, SNHMC Hospitalist Program

What is a hospitalist?

Hospitalists are providers who specialize in caring for you while you are a patient in the hospital. From your admission through discharge, hospitalists work closely with your primary care doctor and specialists to provide coordinated, round-the-clock care.

What are the benefits?

Hospitalists are available in the hospital 24 hours a day. They provide timely bedside visits, communicate regularly with your doctor, follow up on your tests, and adjust treatment as needed. When you are ready to leave, a hospitalist will discuss further treatment options with you and your doctor, help arrange follow-up care, and prescribe necessary medications.
