Interpreter Services
The Medical Center offers interpreter services upon request. These services are provided:
- by satellite with a contracted company that offers up to 150 languages.We use DT Interpreting Services which includes both audio and video language interpretation for deaf and non-English speaking patients and we subscribe to AT&T's interpreter service, "Language Line"
- by individual interpreters in the community who are certified medical interpreters.
In 2006, translation and sign services were provided 970 times for our patients and their families. Eighteen different languages were requested, ranging from Spanish to Urdu to Russian.
