Smoke-Free Policy >>

We protect the health and safety of our patients, employees, and visitors by strictly enforcing a smoke-free policy. Southern New Hampshire Medical Center’s Main and West Campuses are smoke-free environments. Smoking is not allowed inside buildings or within 50 feet of any entrance.

Time to quit?

  • Freedom From Smoking® is the American Lung Association’s 8-session program to help smokers cope, manage urges, control weight, and learn techniques to quit and stay quit. Programs are offered periodically during the year.
  • Freedom From Smoking Online® is the American Lung Association's 24-hour smoking cessation online program. It allows smokers to progress at their own pace through lessons and assignments that may be helpful in the quitting process.
  • Quit Kits, designed to assist individuals throughout the quitting process, are available for $20 through www.nhlung.org or by calling 1-800-83-LUNGS. The kits are based on the ALA's Freedom From Smoking program and contain a self-help workbook, relaxation tape, stress relievers, useful resources, and helpful tips.
  • The Lung Health Call Center, staffed by respiratory therapists and registered nurses, provides residents of NH access to immediate, clear, and accurate lung health information and stop smoking assistance. Call 1-800-548-8252, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm.

We encourage you to speak with your primary care doctor. She or he can provide the guidance and support you need to become smoke-free.
