Q: When is my first prenatal appointment typically scheduled?
A: Your first appointment is made with the physician when you are 5-8 weeks pregnant,
unless there are special circumstances.
Q: When will I have my first ultrasound?
A: Ultrasounds are usually done between 18 and 20 weeks of the pregnancy.
Q: Do you offer 3D ultrasound?
A: Yes. This is a new service that our office provides to our patients once they have had their 20
week ultrasound. Please contact our office for more information. Be prepared to see your
unborn child like never before.
Q:Can I find out if I am having a boy or a girl?
A: Depending on the position of the baby, the sonographer can usually tell whether your baby is a boy or a girl at your 20 week ultrasound.
Q: What can I expect at my first appointment?
A: Your first appointment will be about an hour in length. You will have a complete
gynecological exam. A panel of bloodwork will be ordered which includes blood typing, HIV
and Cystic Fibrosis testing if you wish. You will be given a packet of information that explains
the Do's and Don'ts while you are pregnant. It includesa listing of classes that are offered
by Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for pregnant patients and their families. Dr.
Sisitsky will address any questions or concerns you may have.
Q: Will Dr. Sisitsky be the physician to deliver my baby?
A: Dr. Sisitsky is part of a call pool with six (6) other physicians. What this means is each of the
physicians takes a turn being on call overnight. There is a possibility that when you go into
labor, one of the other physicians will be on call and deliver your baby.
Q: Can I meet the other physicians that Dr. Sisitsky shares call with?
A: During your pregnancy, we offer a "Meet the Doctors" night. This is held on a Tuesday from
5pm-6pm. Please contact the office for the next scheduled class and more information.
