Fit & Healthy KIDSTYLE >>

Dietary habits are formed very early in life. Healthy eating and regular physical activity are vital for growing children. Learning these skills prevents health problems later, including obesity - a factor in chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes.

Registered dietitians, exercise physiologists, a pediatrician, and a psychologist developed Fit & Healthy KIDSTYLE! a 6-week high energy course for families and children ages 8 - 12, to promote well-being and prevent diet-related health problems. Children investigate how food works in the body, the impact of daily food choices and physical activity on health, and how to overcome obstacles to healthy habits. Parents learn to encourage healthy eating and physical activity at home, in school, and on the go. Together, families learn how to follow our adapted Food Guide Pyramid, and how to make healthy choices part of their lives.
