A Higher Level of Care
National accrediting agencies have recognized and certified these departments and programs:
- Our Cardiac Rehabilitation program has achieved national certification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), making it one of only 1,300 such programs in the country with this distinction. Cardiac patients receive the highest level of rehabilitation services here at The Medical Center.
-
The best in today’s cancer care can be found in a Commission on Cancer (COC) approved oncology program, like the one at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. In November 2005, The Medical Center’s Cancer Program earned a three-year “Approval with Commendation” from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons, ensuring quality care close to home. Read the Cancer Committee's 2006 Annual Report.
- The main Laboratory at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, including the Blood Bank and Transfusion Services, as well as the Blood Gas Laboratory, were awarded accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The CAP program is one of the most well-respected accreditation programs in the world and has long been considered the “gold standard” of quality care. The rigorous accreditation process ensures the highest standard of care for laboratory patients.
As caregivers, we understand that we are ultimately judged by how well we care for our patients. With compassionate care, medical expertise, and advanced technology, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center strives to continually improve the quality of care we provide. By every available measure, we are succeeding. Learn more about our Quality Initiatives.
In addition to specialized accreditations for various services, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center is periodically surveyed by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). In March 2004, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center once again earned accreditation by JCAHO. A new accreditation process – “Shared Visions – New Pathways” focuses on “systems critical to the safety and the quality of care, treatment, and services.” The accreditation is effective for three years.
